This bundle includes 5 accurate metallic car paints (manufacturer codes specified below), created using real world references of painted speed shapes, taken under controlled lighting and compared with rendered samples. Buying the bundle saves you 35% compared to buying each of the 5 car paints individually.
The download includes two versions of each car paint, one with flake maps, the other which doesn’t use flake maps but was derived from the flake maps version to look almost identical. The reason for this is that in most cases the camera will not be close enough to the surface to see the individual flakes, but you will see the effect they create – a typical glow around the highlights caused by the metallic flakes suspended in the paint. Another reason is also that the material will render clean a bit faster compared to the version that has the flake maps.
If you use the flake maps version, you will have to adjust the global tiling to be the correct size for the UVs of your particular geometry. The material contains a layer named “Size check” which has a checker texture, where each checker is supposed to be approximately 1cm in size on your object.
