  • The overall exposure is matched between the maps so you can change a map while keeping more or less the same exposure settings. The maps with bright sun visible will naturally have more blown out hightlights so you might want to lower the exposure depending on your scene.
  • Brightest part of the map is centered so you can change maps while keeping the shadows in the same direction.
  • In the file name, you will find a “K” setting which tells you what to set the Maxwell tonemapping K setting to, in order to have the most neutral lighting from the sky.

These maps are smaller resolution versions of the ones available in the store (3500px wide, but still perfectly usable for lighting). They also don’t include any back plate photos or textured road geometry.
